FOOD CONCEPTS PLC
West African Quick Service Restaurant and baked goods company operating proprietary brands including Chicken Republic, PieXpress and The Chop Box in Nigeria since 2000.
FOOD CONCEPTS PLC is a West African Quick Service Restaurant and baked goods company that owns and operates proprietary food brands in Nigeria, among them Chicken Republic, PieXpress and The Chop Box. Incorporated on 6 December 1999, the company began operations in 2000 and converted to a Public Limited Liability Company by Special Resolution on 10 May 2009. Its work spans quick service restaurant operations, food manufacturing, baked goods production and restaurant franchise management.
The company's brands are developed and managed in-house. PieXpress, its baked goods brand, is supported by 10 pie production facilities positioned around Nigeria. Food Concepts has also built brands beyond its current portfolio: it custom-developed and nurtured Yum Yum, and acquired Butterfield to expand its range, later divesting both. Some of its franchise brands trace their origins to South Africa.
Operations are centred on Nigeria within the wider West African market, across the Quick Service Restaurant, food and beverage, baked goods and restaurant franchising sectors. The company states a mission to challenge the status quo by delivering quality food products and services aimed at modern West African customers, and a vision to build the most loved Quick Service Restaurant and baked goods brands across West Africa.
