Mohinani Group

Mohinani Group is a multi-generational, family-owned conglomerate headquartered in Ghana. Founded in 1966, the group employs more than 5,000 people and operates in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya, with international trading and service centres in Hong Kong, London, Dubai and Mumbai.

The group's businesses span manufacturing, distribution and services. Its industrial operations include plastics and packaging manufacturing through Sonnex Packaging, which produces rigid, flexible and corrugated packaging; water-storage tank production under Polytanks Ghana and Polytanks Kenya; and PET recycling. Somochem trades polymers and chemicals, supplying manufacturers across Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Consumer-facing businesses include Somotex and Electromart, which distribute consumer appliances and vehicles, alongside retail and restaurant operations such as Masco Foods and Arabella. Other group businesses include Montana, Somoco and Green Hills Agricultural Products.

Work within the group covers a broad set of industries, among them packaging, plastics manufacturing, PET recycling, polymer and chemical trading, appliance and vehicle distribution, retail, food service and agriculture. The company describes itself as heritage-driven and community-focused, citing diversity and inclusion initiatives, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) programmes and food-access work in its operating locations.
