New Incentives

New Incentives is a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2011. It operates a global health program that uses conditional cash transfers to increase childhood vaccination rates in northern Nigeria. The organization's All Babies Are Equal (ABAE) initiative provides small cash incentives to caregivers whose infants receive routine vaccinations at government clinics, a model credited with doubling full vaccination coverage from 25% to over 50% in program areas.

The program operates across eleven northern Nigerian states, including Bauchi, Kaduna, Kano, and Sokoto. It has enrolled over 7.5 million infants and disbursed more than 33 million cash transfers. Reported outcomes include an 86% retention rate through the full vaccination cycle and a 62% increase in timely measles vaccinations. The program has also been associated with a 180% reduction in clinic vaccine stockouts.

The organization is recognized for its commitment to evidence-based and cost-effective interventions. It has been designated a GiveWell Top Charity and selected by The Life You Can Save, and receives funding from major philanthropies such as Open Philanthropy.
