One Acre Fund is a nonprofit social enterprise founded in 2006 that works to increase food production and income for smallholder farmers across East and Southern Africa. The organisation supplies farmers with high-quality farm inputs on credit, paired with flexible repayment options, and provides practical hands-on training and ongoing support throughout the growing season. Its model is rooted in business practices rather than handouts, investing directly in farmers to build sustainable productivity gains.
The organisation currently operates in nine countries, including Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Nigeria, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, and Ethiopia. It has served over 5.5 million farmers, with participants typically doubling the size of their harvests and seeing farm income rise by an average of 40 percent per year. One Acre Fund has set a goal of reaching 10 million farm families by 2030 and delivering $1 billion in annual impact.
Working at One Acre Fund means contributing to an organisation focused on delivering measurable impact at scale in the agriculture sector. Roles span field operations, logistics, agronomy, and support functions across its countries of operation.
