Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a research and policy nonprofit founded in 2002. It is dedicated to discovering and advancing what works to improve the lives of people living in poverty, using randomized controlled trials and rigorous impact evaluations as its primary methods.
The organization has completed or currently has underway more than 1,000 projects across over 60 countries, supported by 15 country offices. Its work spans sectors including health and nutrition, education, financial inclusion, agriculture, and climate and environment.
IPA operates through dedicated local staff and builds trusted relationships with governments, NGOs, and communities in the regions where it works. The organisation maintains an evidence-based approach to poverty reduction, translating research findings into actionable policy recommendations.
