Mastercard Foundation

The Mastercard Foundation is a registered Canadian charity and one of the world's largest foundations, with assets of $47 billion. Established in 2006, its mission is to enable young people in Africa and Indigenous youth in Canada to access dignified and fulfilling employment. To date, the foundation has committed a total of $13.7 billion in funding toward this goal.

The organisation operates through partnerships with a range of visionary entities. Its work focuses on key sectors including education and financial inclusion. It has set ambitious targets for 2030: to support 30 million young people in Africa and 100,000 Indigenous young people in Canada in securing meaningful work.

The Mastercard Foundation maintains an operational presence across several African nations and in Canada, with offices in cities including Kigali, Nairobi, Lagos, Dakar, and Toronto.
