Mercy Corps is a global humanitarian organisation that alleviates suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities. It works on the front lines of crisis, disaster, poverty, and climate change, combining emergency response with long-term development. Its programme areas include humanitarian aid, disaster relief, poverty alleviation, climate change adaptation and resilience, international development, and justice and social stability work.

The organisation operates in more than 35 countries worldwide, including some of the most challenging environments on Earth, and reaches millions of people each year; over the past year its lifesaving assistance and development programmes reached 37 million people. Mercy Corps employs approximately 3,400 team members, and 95% of them come from the countries where they work.

Its programmes are community-centred and driven by people who best understand local contexts. Mercy Corps partners with local changemakers and global innovators to design culturally appropriate and sustainable programs, supported by a strong localisation strategy that places staff from the countries where programmes are delivered at the centre of that work.
