Prosper Global

Prosper Global (formerly Mercy Corps), founded in 1979, is a humanitarian and development organisation working in 30+ countries on climate resilience, food security, economic development and emergency response.

Prosper Global (formerly Mercy Corps) is a global humanitarian organisation founded in 1979. It works on the frontlines of conflict and climate change, pairing local knowledge with global resources to help people build secure, productive and just communities. In 2025 it reached more than 36 million people worldwide and operates in over 30 countries, including the world's most fragile and conflict-affected regions.

The organisation's work spans five technical domains: climate resilience, food security, economic development, market development and emergency response. Its programmes range from immediate emergency assistance in fragile and conflict-affected regions to long-term development work helping communities build food security and resilience to the effects of climate change. Economic and market development initiatives aim to alleviate poverty and create opportunities for people to prosper; the overall approach is described as helping communities build what is needed, test what is possible and scale what is proven.

Prosper Global employs approximately 3,400 team members, around 95% of whom are from the communities they serve. The organisation was rebranded from Mercy Corps to Prosper Global in September 2026, with an emphasis on opportunities for people to prosper on their own terms. Its stated mission is the alleviation of suffering, poverty and oppression.
