Twinings

British tea and beverages marketer founded in 1706, producing teas and infusions sold worldwide and holding a Royal Warrant.

Twinings is a British marketer of tea and other beverages, blending heritage and innovation to create teas and infusions sold worldwide. The company was founded in 1706 by Thomas Twining, originally as Tom's Coffee House on London's Strand. Its headquarters are in Andover, Hampshire, and its flagship store at 216 Strand, London, is thought to be the world's first dry tea and coffee shop.

The business centres on Twinings teas and infusions, a range of fine quality teas and herbal infusions created through tea craftsmanship, alongside a portfolio of beverage brands intended to energise, refresh and comfort consumers globally. Twinings operates in the tea, beverages, and food and drink retail sectors, with a presence in the UK and worldwide.

The company has been in operation for over three centuries and has supplied every British monarch since 1837 as an official Royal Warrant holder. Twinings is a founding member of the Ethical Tea Partnership and runs its 'Sourced with Care' responsible sourcing programme, launched in 2016, aimed at improving the lives of communities that grow its tea and herbs.
