Guest Artists Space (G.A.S.) is seeking two highly organized and proactive individuals to play a crucial role in the successful execution of G.A.S. Foundation's annual Lagos Art Tour. They will assist in coordinating event itineraries, logistics, managing event staff, supporting guest needs, and ensuring the smooth operation of various activities throughout the month, including day-to-day operations at the residency. These role holders will support the team across our sites in Lagos and Ijebu.
Details: Temporary part-time (Full-time from Oct 10th – Nov 10th 2023)

Accountabilities
- Help to organize and execute daily itineraries throughout the period.
- Help to coordinate event staff, including drivers, ushers, waiters, and security personnel.
- Assist with the coordination of tour groups, and navigation for tour vehicles.
- Support communication efforts, including event calendars and social media updates.
- Run errands related to event logistics, supplies, and guest requirements.
- Ensure the welfare and satisfaction of guests attending the art tour.
- Coordinate and assist with the daily activities of resident artists, including their itineraries, schedules, and transportation arrangements.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth workflow and effective communication within the organization.
Requirements
- High school diploma, students seeking internship or equivalent qualification. Additional relevant certifications or course work in arts, administration, or related fields are a plus.
- Prior experience in event coordination, or project execution/ management at an art, culture or heritage institution.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring all arrangements and schedules are carried out flawlessly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Professional and discreet demeanour, respecting the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to carry out physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and transporting supplies.
- Role holder must have existing rights to live and work in Nigeria.
- Knowledge and interest in contemporary art and the local art scene in Lagos would be advantageous.
- Thorough, with strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy and strong problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, Office Suite, Adobe, social media and blogs/websites.
